Stayed at this b b on the 27th and was amazed at the prices with no breakfast. Room was small very small, cold at first and the bathroom was so small and the air blowing machine didn't work. Had a meal and then I could not believe it a mattress sheet with poo on it. How on earth did that happen.?

I stayed for one night. Room was spacious and nice. Bed was comfortable....I like a reasonably rigid mattress. It was a cold night and I could have done with an extra blanket....none in the room (although I didn't ask for one....I was fine until 3am). Room was quiet, so all in all I slept well. Food....I didn't eat at the hotel in the evening and there is no breakfast option onsite

After we had already sat down and ordered drinks we were then informed that they were no longer taking food orders from some old lady working there. A bit bemused I joined the others at the bar placing their orders and the old lady came back over instructing the guy at the bar not to take the orders. Really odd. It’s one thing to say the kitchen is busy and food will take a while but to stop taking orders entirely is wrong. If we had known we wouldn’t have ordered drinks. Wasn’t offered any refund on the drinks either. The place was almost empty as well. Inside was empty and the small outside courtyard was only half full but with a table of 13 but not much else. If that’s enough to have them close the kitchen for all intents and purposes I would say they don’t do food.

The service at this bar is very good. When I had questions about the receipt list, the staff promptly responded to emails. The food in this pub is exquisite and it's a great experience to enjoy your meal in the garden while enjoying the stunning countryside views.

Sat down to have a drink and the waitress told us off as one person in our party didn't order one. She then said we had to make a purchase to sit with the rest of us? Seems a little rude to me, I would not go back.

This was a great place to stay! The rooms had everything we needed and our room was close to the outdoor patio. What a view from the outdoor patio. Check in was easy and the woman answered all of our questions about what to do and where to go. The bar staff were pleasant to deal with. We had such a great time here, will definitely be back.

We stopped here for lunch and had the tapas option. The food was excellent and portions generous, when we left we felt like Tweedledum and Tweedledee! The fish bites were fantastic with large chunks of cod and salmon, the vegetable tagine was also superb with lots of apricot. My wife liked her squid (she's weird) and the halloumi fries we shared were a great touch. It's a pleasant dining area very spacious and service was pleasant and personable too.

Rip-off. Small chalkboard propped up on the bar clearly says "Any double £2". Charged my bill £6 showing single as £4 and "Double up" £2. I queried it with the lady who said the promotion was second measure for £4. I told her that's not what the sign said and they need to make it clearer. She doesn't apologise for the confusion caused by the sign and (god forbid) didn't offer to honour the price promised on the board. Didn't argue any further as my family were waiting for me and I had better things to do with my bank holiday afternoon then stand arguing with crooked publicans. The lack of apology suggests to me they know exactly what they're doing and know most people won't fight over £2 or even notice. Food was nice enough, shame about the bitter aftertaste left by the drink ripoff. Even without that, nothing special.

Situated right in the middle of the historic town of Malmsbury, the Kings Arms is a welcoming place to stay. Offering fairly basic but ample accomodation at a reasonable price. It's room only ie no breakfast, but the options for breakfast are clearly explained and extremely close by. Friendly and helpful staff too. The pub itself is great with good beer and nice food too. There is parking but it's a very narrow entrance so take care and fold the wing mirrors on.

Good, reasonably priced pub in the middle of Malmesbury. Inside is warm and cosy with plenty of seating. Lovely beer garden with outstanding views. Parking mainly on road outside or Cross Hayes car park (2 min walk).

So our one night stay was enough for us and had it not been for the great location in the centre of Malmesbury it would have been marked with 2 stars. We were very grateful to be let into our room early, at first glance the room was ok however it needed a deep clean - grubby shower fittings, a black shower plug hole and a very dirty chair (we think someone stood on it to reach the very high up window blind) . It didnt work practically either with a weird, daft coat rack made from faux scaffolding pipes, an odd low table area for the coffee machine ( why not the same level as the rest of the table?) and the previously mentioned blind which my 6ft husband couldnt reach ( he used a coat hanger to pull it down!). To reach the parking area behind the pub you have to go through the old arched coach entrance - which in a VW Transporter was very tight and nerve wracking- just a few cms to spare! We paid £110 (room only) for a Saturday night in January and felt any Premier Inn would have been a cheaper and frankly a nicer experience . Such a shame, with its location this hotel is missing a trick.
